futlab 2.0

We founded FutLab in 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic.

We renewed our Futlab 2.0 studio at the end of 2024. Before that, we had been operating since 2018. We had a career as a operators of membership fablab workshop, but we have also made custom design tables, bronze busts, plaster sculptures and other artistic products. Now we offer the creation of paintings using 3D printing and laser, personalized images and prints on textiles. The connecting element of our studio is creativity, art + modern technology.

There were two of us, me as a digital specialist and my current wife as a microbiologist. Passionate enthusiasts for creating products and art.

Actually, it all started when we were looking for a public workshop for our own projects (sewing, 3D printing) and we couldn’t find anything in Prague. So we had no choice but to start our own.

For about 2 years, we operated as something of a fablab (public workshop for paying members) and we also offered laser and 3D printing courses.

When Covid and lockdown came (I’d rather not forget), we transformed into fully custom production and made bronze busts and plaster sculptures. In short, a full-fledged art workshop.

In 2022, we moved from Prague to the countryside and thus closed the entire workshop and production. We took a break for almost 3 years. In the meantime, we spent almost a year and more looking for premises for a new workshop.

At the end of 2024, we finally managed to find new premises in Kutná Hora. This medieval city thrilled us with its atmosphere and the warm attitude of the locals.

We called our new studio FUTLAB 2.0 as a continuation of the original idea, but in a new place and with a new focus.

Now we mainly offer personalized products, custom-made art – made using 3D printing, laser and other techniques.
